Press Play to Rewind
Using Meaningful Music Activities in Dementia Care
Press Play to Rewind aims to provide healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge to use meaningful music and personalised playlists in their day to day care of people living with Dementia.
It is really important that the use of meaningful music in your home is considered a whole home approach, and we ask that two members of your staff complete the training so that you have a ‘study buddy’ to complete this journey with and work together to implement the learning.
In order for this to be adopted as a whole home approach we will be setting you tasks throughout the training, for you to implement your learning in bite-sized chunks. We know how difficult change-management can be and we want to coach you through this process and make it as smooth as possible.
This is a 4 module course, and whilst there is no time limit to complete, we anticipate that you will complete the course in 4 months.
Rosie set up Musica in 2010 whilst she was in the final year of a Music Degree. She is extremely passionate about the benefits of using music as an integrated part of dementia care and is finishing a PhD in Sociology exploring the role of music within acute hospital care for patients with dementia. Rosie provides consultancy to care homes looking to improve their dementia care, and she has given many guest lectures on Music and Dementia at Universities around the world.
